Half Story Mountain

Commissioned project for the Brooklyn Bridge Park

Fiberglass sculpture created digitally with the help of Scott Leinweber and Chris Benfield that features the Le Courbusier LC4 (Chaise Longue). The sculpture is meant to depict a human-to-nature interface in which humans are cradled by nature in modernist furniture. It is also loosely modeled after Michelangelo’s Pietà in reverse.

Commissioned by Two Trees Realty for Brooklyn Bridge Park. Located next to the Brooklyn Bridge near the East River. Special Thanks to Lisa Kim

Half Story Mountain at the Center for Contemporary Art at Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, Poland

Half Story Mountain, 2012, Wood and enamel

This is the sculpture on the grounds of the Center for Contemporary Art at Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, Poland on a three month residency (AIR) featuring a love seat and third rock seat. Hollis Witherspoon and I are pictured here wearing vest sculptures that we made with hand made patches to symbolize knowledge and experience even though we felt like we knew nothing and couldn’t help people much. Here we are talking to a curious passerby.
